Real “land that washes” Ghassoul is used as a mask for the face or very mild shampoo or soap. When mixed with water, Ghassoul swells to form a very soft paste which absorbs impurities and fats which are then eliminated in rinsing.

History and Origin:
Ghassoul (pronounced “Rasul”) is a native of Morocco clay. It is extracted from the Atlas Mountains. In the Middle Ages it was the subject of a business in the East. Ghassoul is ancestrally used as hair care and body by Moroccan women. The name of this clay would mean “that washes”

Properties and indications: Moroccan Ghassoul Powder
Ghassoul is a clay soil fibrous structure. She saponifère, that is to say,  contains a large number of natural foaming saponins. Ghassoul emulsifies naturally with water, it absorbs impurities and fat without attacking the protective lipid film of the skin nor the protective sheath of the hair. Known for centuries for its cleansing and purifying, this clay absorbs the sebum (without irritating the sebaceous glands) and cleans the hair smoothly, without detergent effect. The hair found brilliance and tone, with a little more volume. On the skin, the ghassoul cleans the impurities and removes blackheads. Moreover, it is quite suitable for sensitive or fragile skin.

Use :
For hair: mix Ghassoul with lukewarm water until a smooth slurry. Apply this paste on the hair, leave for a few moments. Lather do next with the hands slightly massaging the scalp and rinse thoroughly.
For the face: apply a ghassoul mask, let dry, and rinse with astringent water (Witch Hazel hydrosol for example).
For the body: having rubbed the skin with a loofah (to enable traffic), apply the Ghassoul in thick layers in a circular motion. Allow to dry the poultice and rinse thoroughly.
Another suggestion in a hot bath, pour 100 g ghassoul to reduce cellulite (bath oil with 15 drops of Relaxing or Draining).

Storage:

Keep in a closed container, away from air, light and moisture.

How to use the Rassoul?
First know that the Rasul is sufficient in itself. You can use it only for washing, or during a session Hammam mask on hair. I do not like chain scrub soap carefully at Rassoul on the skin but it is very personal (I find that the scrub is sufficient in itself), if you want go ahead it will make you no harm!

Tip: you can mix the powder with water rhassoul orange blossom or rose water instead of water to make a light scent.

It is suitable for all hair types, even colored hair, no worries on that side. You have to rinse, it leaves the skin soft and clean and shiny. If like me you have very long hair, you can add the lengths of argan oil (I talk about it you soon excellent Bio Argan Oil I’m trying right now) to feed hair and make them silky.

In short, Rasul has many qualities: it not only suitable for all skin types, all hair, but it is ideal for those seeking natural and ecological alternatives to wash (the rassoul does not pollute at all the water !). So almost perfect, the small downside being that it’s a little messy, you must rinse the bath or shower after.
